Job summary

Velindre University NHS Trust is seeking a Band 7 Senior Clinical Scientist in Nuclear Medicine for Velindre Cancer Centre. The role involves independent clinical work across imaging, QA, and radionuclide therapies, including trials and service development, with training duties for staff and students.

You will work in a forward-looking department ahead of a new centre opening in 2027 and contribute to innovative patient care in a supportive team.

Qualifications

• HCPC registration or close to registration through STP/Route 2.
• UK NHS or equivalent experience in nuclear medicine.
• Experience with quality assurance, image processing and radionuclide therapies.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical scientist expertise in Nuclear Medicine with autonomy.
• Participate in routine diagnostic, non-imaging and therapy services.
• Lead in teaching and training of staff and students.
• Use complex imaging equipment and information technology.
• Interpret relevant legislation and maintain high standards of practice.
• Contribute to staff and service development and liaise with medical colleagues.
