Job summary

Cumbria, Northumberland and Tyne and Wear NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Senior Clinical Psychologist (Band 8a) to join the Memory and Later Life Psychology Service in North Cumbria. The post involves highly specialist psychological assessment, neuropsychology input for dementia, and evidence-based therapy for age-related mental health difficulties.

Qualifications

• Doctoral level training in clinical psychology accredited by HCPC and BPS.
• HCPC registration as a practitioner psychologist.
• Additional qualification in a therapeutic model for use with older adults.
• Pre-qualification training in research methodology and staff development.

Responsibilities

• Neuropsychological assessment to aid differential diagnosis of dementia.
• Provision of evidence-based therapies for cognitive impairment and mental health difficulties.
• Indirect work including formulation and MDT collaboration.
• Supervision of trainee clinical psychologists and assistant psychologists.
