Job summary

Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust’s Basildon site is seeking a pharmacist to join our pharmacy team on a fixed-term basis. You will deliver clinical pharmacy services across Obstetrics, Gynaecology and Paediatrics, shaping patient care and leading change within a multidisciplinary environment.

The role offers opportunities to develop clinical leadership, participate in governance, and contribute to research and service improvement across our three sites in Basildon postcode area.

Qualifications

• Master's Degree in Pharmacy (or equivalent)
• Registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council
• Diploma in Clinical Pharmacy or equivalent Post-graduate qualification

Responsibilities

• Providing specialist clinical pharmacy services to Obstetrics and Gynaecology, and Paediatric wards
• Working closely with the multidisciplinary team and taking a proactive and leading role in implementing evidence based practice
• Training of the pharmacy and multidisciplinary teams including Trainee, Foundation and Specialist pharmacists
• Management of medicine shortages, ensuring that risk assessments are completed where required.
• Deputise for the clinical lead pharmacist where necessary including governance and clinical meetings.
• Develop and implement new protocols and procedures, and assist in development of pharmaceutical aspects of policies.
• Proactive in taking part in research opportunities.
• Develop your existing role as an independent prescriber, or working towards this goal.
