Job summary

NHS England is seeking a Consultant in Public Health, Senior Clinical Lead to provide senior clinical and public health leadership for a national screening portfolio within the Vaccination and Screening Directorate.

The postholder will drive quality assurance, strategy, and improvement, working with partners to reduce inequalities and improve population outcomes. This six-month fixed-term maternity cover role involves expert advisory work during a period of transformation.

Responsibilities

• Provide senior clinical and public health leadership for national screening programmes.
• Lead quality assurance and improvement activities across programmes.
• Develop and implement national standards, policies and guidance.
• Lead the management of screening incidents and risk management.
• Represent the programme at national forums and deputise for senior colleagues.
• Oversee data and evidence-based decision making to improve outcomes.
