Senior Clinical Fellow in Emergency Medicine (ST4+) - 80:20 Frailty
The position offers a combination of the following activities:

The post involves 80% clinical work in the adult emergency department and 20% dedicated to developing a specialist interest. It is suitable for OOPT/E EM HSTs, stand-alone for non-trainees, and can be 100% EM if needed. Open to SAS and Specialty Doctors.

Applicants should hold a relevant postgraduate qualification (e.g., MRCEM, MRCP, MRCS, FRCA), be ST4+ or equivalent, with at least 3 years in approved SHO posts (including 1 year in Emergency Medicine).
The role combines service provision, including out-of-hours work, with 20% time for a specialist interest, which may include education, global health, expedition medicine, leadership, advanced airway management, research, ultrasound, resuscitation, toxicology, or paediatrics. Custom interests are welcomed. Suitable for trainees and non-trainees, including those with a UK National Training Number in Emergency Medicine, for OOPT or OOPE.

Manage reception, diagnosis, and emergency treatment of adult ED patients with supervision, ensuring safety. Liaise with ICU and specialist units for patient care. No paediatric ED sessions.
Report to the Clinical Director, responsible to the Trust Board.
Participate in clinical governance, risk management, and audits. Engage in at least one supervised audit project during the post.
Full shift system covering earlies, mids, lates, and nights. Pay compliant with regulations.
