Detailed job description and main responsibilitiesClinical duties will initially be based mainly in theatres and / or supporting labour ward. There will be a 1:8 on-call commitment on a resident Registrar rota.

Person specificationEducation and qualificationsEssential criteria- Eligible for full registration with the GMC at time of appointment
- MBBS or equivalent medical qualification
- ALS certification
- Primary FRCA or equivalent
Desirable criteria- Final FRCA or equivalent
- APLS/ATLS or equivalent
- Higher degree
- Teaching qualification
ExperienceEssential criteria- EPA 1 and 2 achieved (or equivalent experience)
- Initial Assessment of Obstetric Competencies (or equivalent)
- Understanding of and evidence of participation in clinical Governance and Audit
Desirable criteria- Experience in teaching/simulation
- Experience in Research
Skills and knowledgeEssential criteria- Flexible, objective and assertive
- Excellent communication skills
- Able to work within a multidisciplinary team
- Well organised, conscientious; ability to complete projects
