The General Surgery Department at West Middlesex University Hospital is dedicated to teaching and training junior medical staff, including medical students from Imperial College.

Person specification
Qualifications and Training:
- MRCS or equivalent medical qualification
- Full GMC registration
Knowledge & experience
- Substantial full-time hospital service in the SHO or higher grade since first obtaining registration
- Experience in General Surgery, especially emergency surgery
- Experience of audit and research
- Commitment to staying up-to-date with medical knowledge
- Training in management skills
Desirable criteria
- Additional experience in breast, colorectal, and vascular surgery
- Understanding of NHS organization
Personal qualities
- Adaptability and responsiveness to change
- Ability to work well within a multidisciplinary team
- Willingness to share non-clinical tasks
- Commitment to achieving government and trust targets, e.g., waiting times
