This is a full-time Senior Clinical Fellow post in Gastroenterology, created in response to service needs. The position is fixed-term for 4 months, until September 2025.
We are seeking a doctor to join the Gastroenterology Department at Norfolk and Norwich Hospital. The role involves inpatient and outpatient duties. While primarily a service post, training opportunities will be available for successful applicants.
Applicants unable to undertake the duties of a full-time post for personal reasons will be given equal consideration. If appointed, the job content will be adjusted as appropriate in consultation with consultant colleagues and local management.
The appointment is to the Trust, not specific hospitals.
All employees, including the appointee, are expected to participate in the Trust’s Clinical Governance programme, which includes clinical audits, quality improvement, clinical guidelines and pathways, professional development, appraisal, and risk management.
The role mainly involves providing high-quality inpatient care to our large cohort of Gastroenterology inpatients. The inpatient teams are divided into three areas: luminal Gastroenterology, Hepatology, and Nutrition. The successful candidate will likely rotate through these teams. The department operates a 7-day, 8 am-8 pm on-call rota for Gastroenterology emergencies, which the appointee will contribute to. There will be opportunities to attend outpatient clinics, MDTs, and gain experience in Endoscopy, combining service provision with training.
The appointee will be assigned a Clinical/Educational Supervisor to facilitate training and personal development planning.
