A leading healthcare provider in the UK is seeking a Senior Clinical Fellow in Emergency Medicine. The senior clinical fellow posts include 80% time working in the adult emergency department and 20% paid time to develop a specialist interest of the successful candidate’s choice. The posts are open as OOPT/E for EM HSTs and as stand-alone posts for non-trainees, and can be 100% EM if required. We are also open to SAS and Specialty Doctors.
The 20% specialist interest will be in the Medical Examiner Service, providing independent scrutiny of all non-coronial deaths, expanding from acute trusts to include community settings.
Applicants should hold a relevant postgraduate qualification (MRCEM, MRCP, MRCS, FRCA or equivalent), and should be ST4+ or equivalent, with a minimum of 3 years in approved SHO posts or equivalent, including at least 1 year in Emergency Medicine.
The requirement is that you are 5 years post full GMC registration.
The post combines service provision, including out of hours work, with paid time for a specialist interest. Interests may include education, global health, expedition medicine, leadership, advanced airway management, research, ultrasound, resuscitation, toxicology, and paediatrics. We are open to other interests as well.
This position is suitable for trainees and non-trainees. Trainees with a UK National Training Number in Emergency Medicine are eligible for OOPT or OOPE.
