Job summary

Cleveland Clinic London is seeking a Clinical Engineering Service Operations Lead to drive day-to-day operations, lifecycle management, and performance improvement within a high-acuity clinical setting. You will lead a small team, ensure compliance with MHRA guidance and quality standards, and coordinate with project engineers and quality leads across the service.

The role requires a degree in a relevant engineering field, substantial clinical engineering experience, and strong supplier/contract

Qualifications

• First degree in Biomedical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Computer Science, Physics or equivalent
• Substantial experience in clinical/biomedical engineering in healthcare
• Experience with asset management systems, data analysis and performance reporting
• Experience managing suppliers, contractors and service agreements
• Ability to understand clinical workflows and operational implications of connected medical devices
• Knowledge of MHRA guidance and quality management systems
• Demonstrable leadership of an engineering service or team
• Knowledge of ISO 13485 / ISO 9001 and risk management for IT networks with medical devices (desirable)
• Project and change-management experience with multiple priorities

Responsibilities

• Lead daily Clinical Engineering operations, including workshop and field activity.
• Line-manage four Clinical Engineers with objectives, appraisals and wellbeing.
• Ensure timely maintenance, safety checks and equipment deployment.
• Oversee equipment lifecycle management, including inventory and replacement.
• Monitor KPIs and risks, taking corrective action when needed.
• Maintain relationships with clinical teams, suppliers and manufacturers.
• Support Quality Management System and compliance activities.
• Assist audits and corrective/preventive actions on time.
• Contribute to safety assessments and information governance compliance.
• Other duties as assigned.
