This is an excellent opportunity for a senior Clinical / Counselling Psychologist to lead the psychology service within the Havering Community Learning Disabilities Team (CLDT) at NELFT. The role involves 0.50 WTE sessions (18.75 hours per week) within a multidisciplinary team working closely with health and social services to provide coordinated, high-quality care for adults with learning disabilities. The post-holder will be supported by the Principal Psychologist and the Professional Lead of the Learning Disabilities Psychological Service at NELFT.
Our psychological therapies provision within community learning disability teams includes clinical psychologists, clinical behavioural specialists, art therapists, systemic/family therapists, Clinical Associates in Psychology (CAP), assistant psychologists, and trainees from London-based Doctorate in Clinical or Counselling training courses. We collaborate with the local Talking Therapies service to strengthen the mainstreaming agenda for people with learning disabilities. Our service is developing trauma-informed and culturally sensitive care for individuals and their families. There are excellent opportunities for professional development through CPD, peer support, and service development. We also have an active R&D department.
Starting with NELFT
We prioritize proper induction for new starters, who join on the first Monday of each month for a comprehensive two-week induction, including mandatory training, systems training, and equipment allocation. This includes opportunities to meet the executive team, senior managers, and attend engagement, health, and wellbeing sessions at our Rainham, Essex headquarters.
Probationary Period
This role is subject to a probationary period. Internal applicants are exempt unless they are mid-probation or bank staff.
High Cost Area Supplement - London
This role attracts a 15% supplement to the basic salary (minimum £4,551, maximum £5,735 per annum, pro rata).
