Job summary

The Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Band 5 Accredited Clinical Coder to accurately code complex clinical data using ICD10 and OPCS4 in line with National Clinical Coding Standards. You will contribute to high-quality data supporting planning, reimbursement, research and service management.

The role is based at Barnet Hospital with a flexible mix of site-based and remote work, 37.5 hours per week, and a commitment to training and professional development.

Qualifications

• National Clinical Coding Qualification
• GCSE English and Maths
• Training in ICD10/OPCS4 coding to National Coding standard
• Anatomy, Physiology and Medical Terminology training to National Coding standard

Responsibilities

• Abstract and analyse complex clinical information from source docs and translate into coded form using ICD10/OPCS4.
• Ensure coding targets are met for completeness, timeliness and accuracy.
• Provide guidance to junior coders and assist with audits and departmental training
