Job summary

CUR8 is seeking a Senior Climate Strategist to act as a trusted, technically credible voice for the corporations and project developers we work with. The role moves between science, commercial strategy, product and client relationships in a single week, and requires grounding in science to discuss with buyers and enough commercial acumen to shape a deal.

Location is hybrid, offering flexibility between remote work and our Old Street office. Full or part-time considered.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in climate advisory, carbon markets or sustainability strategy.
• Deep knowledge of carbon markets, net-zero frameworks, and corporate decarbonisation strategies.
• Familiarity with climate claims frameworks (SBTi, VCMI, CSRD).

• Lead customers through goal setting and strategy development, building the business case and ROI narrative for investment, and setting them up for successful execution and ongoing monitoring.
• Work closely with product, feeding client and market reality directly into what CUR8 builds next.
• Maintain a current, credible view of the climate intervention landscape (from credits to value-chain activity), including methods, pricing, project developers and partners.
• Advise clients on market trends, high-integrity carbon credit procurement, risk mitigation, and the evolving regulatory landscape.
• Becoming the trusted advisor for the sustainability leaders and executives we work with in building actionable business strategies.

Overview

• CUR8 is seeking a Senior Climate Strategist to be a trusted, technically credible voice for the corporations and project developers we work with.


• This is a generalist role by design: you'll move between science, commercial strategy, product and client relationships in a single week, and you'll need enough grounding in the underlying science to hold your own with a buyer's sustainability team while staying commercially sharp enough to shape a deal.


• Location: The position is hybrid, allowing for flexibility between remote work and our Old Street office.

About the Role

As a Senior Climate Strategist, you will advise corporations and project developers on the climate interventions that drive clear outcomes for their businesses.

Your key responsibilities include:

• Leading our customers through goal setting and strategy development, building the the business case and ROI narrative for investment, and setting them up for successful execution and ongoing monitoring


• Working closely with product, feeding client and market reality directly into what CUR8 builds next


• Keeping a current, credible view of the climate intervention landscape (from credits to value-chain activity), including methods, pricing, project developers and partners


• Advising clients on market trends, high-integrity carbon credit procurement, risk mitigation, and the evolving regulatory landscape


• Becoming the trusted advisor for the sustainability leaders, and executives we work with in building actionable business strategies


• Representing CUR8 externally, including at industry events and in thought leadership

About You

Essential:

• 5+ years in climate advisory, carbon markets or sustainability strategy, corporate or consulting side


• Scientific academic background, PhD level, or equivalent depth built through industry experience


• Deep knowledge of carbon markets, net-zero frameworks, and corporate decarbonization strategies


• Strong understanding of carbon market mechanisms, including voluntary and compliance markets, credit quality assessments, and emerging trends in climate finance


• Working familiarity with climate claims frameworks (SBTi, VCMI, CSRD) and how they shape long-term decarbonisation strategy


• Experience developing the business case for sustainability investments and carbon credit procurement


• Excellent communication skills, translating technical materials into actionable strategies for stakeholders, partners, and the wider community

Desirable:

• Experience sitting close to product development, not just downstream of it


• Direct experience with carbon removal, avoidance or reduction credits and insetting/ value-chain projects


• Project development and/or climate investment experience


• Experience at a company where the role isn't neatly boxed in
