THE ROLE

As Senior Portfolio Management Lead, you will play a central role in helping Climate Impact Partners develop high-quality, commercially competitive solutions that meet evolving client needs. Acting as a key link between Sales, Primary and Secondary Sourcing, Pricing, Fulfilment, and Due Diligence teams, you will help translate client requirements into portfolio solutions that are credible, deliverable, and aligned with market dynamics. While this role does not own client relationships or business development activities, it is instrumental in shaping the portfolio strategies, commercial analyses, and proposal content that underpin successful client engagements. Working closely with the Portfolio Management Director, you will support the strategic and operational management of Climate Impact Partners' environmental portfolio across both primary and secondary markets. You will contribute to portfolio planning, commercial structuring, market intelligence, and opportunity assessment, helping ensure our portfolio remains high quality, balanced, and responsive to client demand. The role provides the analytical, operational, and commercial backbone behind client proposals and portfolio decisions, enabling Climate Impact Partners to respond effectively to market opportunities while maintaining a differentiated and resilient supply portfolio. This is a highly visible role with significant cross-functional exposure and direct influence on commercial outcomes.

Responsibilities
Client Solutions & Commercial Support
  • Lead the development of portfolio solutions, proposal content, and RFP responses that meet client requirements and commercial objectives.
  • Partner with Sales, Sourcing, Fulfilment, and Due Diligence teams to translate client needs into credible and deliverable portfolio recommendations.
  • Support commercial decision-making through portfolio analysis, market insights, and project evaluations.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of proposal tools, processes, and knowledge resources that enhance the quality and efficiency of client submissions.
Portfolio Strategy & Strategic Transactions
  • Support development and execution of Climate Impact Partners' portfolio strategy across carbon credits and other environmental attributes.
  • Work closely with Sourcing teams to translate client demand signals into portfolio priorities, sourcing strategies, and investment decisions.
  • Support the structuring and evaluation of strategic transactions, including long-term offtake agreements, portfolio-based solutions, and supply partnerships.
  • Develop commercial analyses and scenario modelling to support negotiations, pricing decisions, supplier engagements, and strategic recommendations.
  • Identify portfolio risks, supply gaps, and emerging opportunities, helping ensure the portfolio remains aligned with client demand and business objectives.
Market Intelligence & Portfolio Insight
  • Monitor market developments, pricing trends, buyer demand, and competitive activity.
  • Generate actionable market and portfolio insights to support commercial decision-making, sourcing strategy, and business planning.
  • Maintain and enhance portfolio planning tools, reporting capabilities, and market intelligence resources.
Cross-Functional Leadership & Delivery
  • Act as a key link between Sales, Sourcing, Pricing, Fulfilment, Finance and Technical teams to support effective portfolio decision-making and commercial execution.
  • Drive continuous improvement in portfolio management processes, systems and ways of working to improve efficiency, scalability, and business impact.
  • Represent the Portfolio Management function in cross-functional initiatives, providing clear recommendations and commercially focused insights that support business objectives.
What We Are Looking For
Values Alignment
  • Alignment with company values of ambition, integrity, innovation, and service, with a demonstrated commitment to leveraging your role to drive positive impact and meaningful change.
Industry Knowledge
  • Strong understanding of voluntary carbon markets, with an interest in market dynamics and emerging trends.
  • Knowledge of carbon project types, standards, methodologies, and portfolio construction principles.
  • Awareness of commercial, market, and supply chain considerations that influence portfolio strategy and client decision-making.
  • Interest in translating complex market and technical information into practical business recommendations and client solutions.
Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience in carbon markets, environmental commodities, portfolio management, commercial strategy, consulting, finance, or a related field.
  • Experience developing complex proposals, RFP responses, commercial transactions, or business cases.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to evaluate opportunities, assess trade-offs and develop clear recommendations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to synthesize complex information into compelling client-facing and executive-level materials.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to work effectively across multiple teams and disciplines.
  • Commercially minded, with the ability to balance client requirements, market realities and business objectives.
  • Highly organised, proactive and comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Advanced Excel and data analysis skills required; experience with CRM, reporting, or portfolio management tools is advantageous.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience required.

  • Enhanced Parental Leave
  • Green Commute Bike Scheme
  • Summer Fridays (start your weekend early if you've finished everything on your to-do list)
