  • Empowered to serve. We are respectful, inclusive, collaborative.
THE ROLE

Climate Impact Partners, a leading provider of high-quality carbon credit programmes, is looking for a Due Diligence Specialist to join our Technical & Quality team, part of the broader Operations department.

The integrity of the carbon projects we work with is at the heart of our role as a trusted partner for both clients and project partners, and this role plays a critical part in upholding that integrity.

Reporting to the Due Diligence Manager, you will wors closely with colleagues across Sourcing and Technical (Project Development) to execute and continuously enhance our rigorous, consistent processes for project Due Diligence (DD) and risk assessment. You will stay abreast of regulatory, methodological, and market developments across the voluntary carbon market to help maintain Climate Impact Partners’ reputation for quality and credibility.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Conduct technical screenings and due diligence assessments for a diverse range of projects, including nature-based and engineered solutions.
  • Evaluate projects against key quality criteria, including:

    • Project implementation and on-the-ground feasibility
    • Environmental, social, and SDG integrity and co-benefits
    • MRV (Monitoring, Reporting, & Verification) and data quality
  • Support the definition and application of quality criteria across the DD team, contributing to process consistency and continuous improvement.
  • Maintain accurate DD data and documentation; support DD pipeline tracking and reporting.

  • The ideal candidate will have experience in nature-based and/or engineered solutions; experience or knowledge of improved household technology solutions being desirable.
  • A Bachelor's, Master's, of PhD degree in a relevant field such as biological/environmental science, sustainability, or related discipline.
  • Experience reviewing Project Design Documents is desirable, along with reviewing monitoring reports for leading standards (e.g., VCS/CCB, Isometric, Puro.Earth, Equitable Earth, CSI, Gold Standard, Climate Action Reserve, ACR, or equivalent).
  • Strong understanding of key elements of project quality factors, including additionality, baselines, permanence, leakage, land and carbon rights, jurisdictional risks, and environmental and social impacts. Familiarity with relevant data sources and analytical tools that support project evaluation.
  • Experience with GIS mapping tools is highly desirable.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
  • Comfortable jumping into unfamiliar problems and picking up new skills as needed.
  • Brings a proactive, solutions-oriented mindset, looking for better ways to solve problems rather than defaulting to how things have always been done.

  • Can manage competing priorities and deliver at pace.
  • Holds high standards for ethical conduct and professional integrity.
  • Thinks critically and make pragmatic recommendations using the best available – and sometimes imperfect – information.
