Job Description
- Manage and mentor a team of client accountants, providing guidance, training, and performance oversight.
- Review and ensure accuracy of financial records across client property portfolios.
- Oversee the preparation of high-quality monthly, quarterly, and annual client reports.
- Lead on complex reconciliations and provide insightful financial commentary to clients.
- Support senior finance team on reporting packs, board-level summaries, and audit coordination.
- Lead the preparation, review, and reconciliation of service charge budgets and actuals.
- Provide senior-level oversight of service charge income/expenditure and ensure all reconciliations are completed in line with RICS and client requirements.
- Liaise with property managers to support transparent, client-aligned financial planning.
- Oversee rental income processing, arrears monitoring, and credit control activities.
- Ensure lease events (rent reviews, break clauses, escalations) are accurately recorded in financial systems.
- Escalate and support resolution of tenant queries in collaboration with property management teams.
- Act as a senior finance contact for key clients, providing commercial insights and responding to complex financial queries.
The Successful Applicant
- Previous experience in a client accounting role within the property/real estate space.
- Demonstrable managerial experience in previous positions.
- Deep understanding of service charge accounting, budgeting and rent reconciliations.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- ACCA/CIMA/ACA or equivalent qualified or part-qualified.
