Lostock Primary School in Bolton is seeking a part-time Senior Clerical Assistant for term-time work. This fixed-term post runs until 23 July 2027 with pro rata salary £9,555–£9,707 per annum, and a full-time equivalent of £26,427–£26,847.

Hours: 16 per week, Tue–Fri, 9:30am–1:30pm, in a busy school office. Ideal candidates will have strong IT skills (Microsoft Office), Bromcom knowledge, excellent numeracy, literacy and communication, and the ability to prioritise tasks under pressure with

Qualifications

  • Knowledge and experience of information technology such as Microsoft Office; Bromcom knowledge desirable.
  • Able to work under pressure in a busy main office with interruptions.
  • Excellent numeracy, literacy and communication skills.
  • Experience in a wide range of administration and financial procedures.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities with forward planning to meet deadlines.
  • Experience handling sensitive and confidential material.
  • Professional and approachable; first point of contact for stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Provide administration and financial support in a busy school office.
  • Handle front-desk enquiries and direct communications with pupils, parents and staff.
  • Manage multiple priorities and deadlines through effective planning.
  • Maintain confidential records and manage information securely.
  • Assist with IT tasks in Microsoft Office and Bromcom as required.
  • Support school governance processes as part of office team.
  • Assist with data entry and general office duties as needed.

Salary: Grade C, Scale Point 5 6 (£26,427 - £26,847) pro rata

(Actual Salary £9,555 - £9,707 per annum)

Hours: 16 hours per week, term-time only

Days: Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday 9:30am 1:30pm

(we are willing to consider alternative working hours for the right candidate)

Contract: Fixed term until 23rd July 2027

Required for: ASAP

The Head of School and Governors of this happy and successful school are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic (term-time only) Senior Clerical Assistant.

The successful candidate will:

  • have knowledge and experience of information technology such as Microsoft Office; a good working knowledge of Bromcom is desirable
  • be able to work effectively under pressure in a very busy main office with frequent interruptions
  • have excellent numeracy, literacy and communication skills
  • have experience in a wide range of administration and financial procedures
  • be able to manage multiple priorities under pressure, by forward planning and prioritising own workload to meet strict deadlines
  • have experience of handling sensitive and confidential material
  • have a professional and approachable character, being the first point of contact for all the school's stakeholders.
