Job summary

Building Careers UK Ltd is seeking a Senior Claims Surveyor for a Warrington-based role within a growing contractor. You will lead complex construction claims, manage EOT and disruption, review contracts, and prepare submissions to protect the company’s position.

You will negotiate with clients and stakeholders, advise project teams, and support adjudication and dispute resolution processes while maintaining strong client relationships on high-value projects.

Qualifications

• 10+ years' Quantity Surveying experience.
• Experience on major building, infrastructure, or complex construction projects.
• Extensive experience preparing and negotiating EOT, disruption, loss & expense, and contractual claims.
• Experience preparing documentation and evidence for adjudication and dispute proceedings.
• A Law Degree or strong legal/contractual background.
• Strong knowledge of construction contracts and contractual mechanisms.
• Previous experience within a Tier 1 contractor or major-project environment.
• Excellent analytical and report-writing skills.
• Strong negotiation and communication skills.
• Strong client-facing ability with senior stakeholders.
• MRICS would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Preparing and managing complex contractual claims across major construction projects.
• Leading Extension of Time (EOT), disruption, loss and expense, and associated claims.
• Reviewing contracts and project records to establish entitlement and quantum.
• Preparing detailed contractual and commercial submissions.
• Negotiating claims with clients, consultants, and other project stakeholders.
• Providing specialist contractual and claims advice to project and commercial teams.
• Supporting the preparation of matters for adjudication and wider dispute resolution.
• Reviewing project documentation, programmes, records, correspondence, and commercial information.
• Identifying potential claims and commercial risks at an early stage.
• Working alongside Quantity Surveyors and Commercial Managers to maximise contractual entitlement.
• Supporting senior management with complex contractual and commercial matters.
• Maintaining strong, professional client relationships throughout the claims process.
