Job summary

Building Careers UK Ltd is seeking a Senior Claims Surveyor in Warrington to lead the preparation, management, negotiation and resolution of complex construction claims on major projects. You will work with senior teams, clients, and legal advisors to protect the company’s contractual position.

The role covers assessment, adjudication preparation, and dispute resolution support, requiring substantial experience in high-value claims and a strong law/contractual background.

Qualifications

• 10+ years' Quantity Surveying experience.
• Significant experience on major building, infrastructure, or complex construction projects.
• Extensive experience preparing and negotiating EOT, disruption, loss & expense, and contractual claims.
• Proven experience managing claims from initial identification through to negotiation and resolution.
• Experience preparing documentation and evidence for adjudication and dispute proceedings.
• Strong knowledge of construction contracts and contractual mechanisms.
• Previous experience in a Tier 1 contractor or major-project environment.

About the Company

Our client is a well-established and growing construction contractor with an extensive track record delivering complex residential and major construction projects across the UK. The business operates across sectors including high-rise residential, Build to Rent, affordable housing, student accommodation, and specialist developments.

With a strong pipeline of major projects and a focus on quality, commercial performance, and long-term client relationships, the business is continuing to strengthen its senior commercial function. They are now looking to appoint an experienced Senior Claims Surveyor to take responsibility for complex contractual and commercial claims across major projects.

The Role

As Senior Claims Surveyor, you will take a lead role in the preparation, management, negotiation, and resolution of complex construction claims.

You will work closely with senior commercial and project teams, clients, legal advisors, and other stakeholders to ensure the company's contractual and commercial position is protected.

• Maintaining strong, professional client relationships throughout the claims process

The Ideal Candidate

The successful Senior Claims Surveyor will have:

• 10+ years' Quantity Surveying experience

• Significant experience working on major building, infrastructure, or complex construction projects

• Extensive experience preparing and negotiating EOT, disruption, loss & expense, and contractual claims

• Proven experience managing claims from initial identification through to negotiation and resolution

• Experience preparing documentation and evidence for adjudication and dispute proceedings

• A Law Degree or strong legal/contractual background

• Strong knowledge of construction contracts and contractual mechanisms

• Previous experience working within a Tier 1 contractor or major-project environment

• Excellent analytical and report-writing skills

• Strong understanding of delay, disruption, quantum, and contractual entitlement

• Excellent negotiation and communication skills

• Strong client-facing ability with the confidence to deal directly with senior stakeholders

• Relevant professional qualification such as MRICS would be advantageous
