Job summary

Building Careers UK Ltd is recruiting a Senior Claims Surveyor for high-value construction projects. The role leads the preparation, management, negotiation, and resolution of complex claims on major schemes across the UK.

You will work closely with commercial teams, clients and legal advisors, reviewing contracts, calculating entitlement, and advising on adjudication and dispute resolution. A 10+ year QS background and MRICS or legal expertise are preferred.

Qualifications

• 10+ years' Quantity Surveying experience.
• Experience on major building, infrastructure, or complex construction projects.
• Extensive experience preparing and negotiating EOT, disruption, loss & expense, and contractual claims.
• Strong knowledge of contracts and contractual mechanisms.

Responsibilities

• Preparing and managing complex contractual claims across major construction projects
• Leading Extension of Time (EOT), disruption, loss and expense, and associated claims
• Reviewing contracts and project records to establish entitlement and quantum
• Preparing detailed contractual and commercial submissions
• Negotiating claims with clients, consultants, and other project stakeholders
• Providing specialist contractual and claims advice to project and commercial teams
• Supporting the preparation of matters for adjudication and wider dispute resolution
• Reviewing project documentation, programmes, records, correspondence, and commercial information
• Identifying potential claims and commercial risks at an early stage
• Working alongside Quantity Surveyors and Commercial Managers to maximise contractual entitlement
• Supporting senior management with complex contractual and commercial matters
• Maintaining strong, professional client relationships throughout the claims process
