Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic professional to join our team as a Claims Manager. The Claims Manager will provide effective claims handling and advice to Members in accordance with the Claims Department’s guidelines and procedures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Handle allocated claims and related tasks, especially claims from Chartering Members, in compliance with the Claims Department’s guidelines to provide optimal claims services within designated authority levels:
  • Assess risk and liability by collecting, analyzing, and assimilating information.
  • Provide advice or recommendations to Members on claims handling strategies to resolve claims cost-effectively and expediently.
  • Raise estimates, process payments and reimbursements, and liaise with the Head of FD&D in FD&D cases.
  • Maintain regular reviews of claims and estimates according to the company’s requirements, which may vary.
  • Maintain diaries regarding time bars and key dates.
  • For FD&D claims, assess coverage, monitor costs, request budgets, and liaise with relevant teams if issues arise.
  • Support knowledge management by sharing relevant information with the Head of Claims and other Departments.
  • Ensure organized document management for both electronic and paper files, complying with company standards and health and safety practices.
  • Provide guidance, supervision, and training to staff and third parties as needed.
  • Monitor claims performance and fleet development, advising relevant departments accordingly.
  • Visit Members and stakeholders to maintain relationships and improve service delivery.
  • Attend training seminars and programmes as required.
  • Coordinate with the Head of CCC Claims, Claims Handlers, the Head of FD&D, and other Departments as needed.

Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years’ experience in a law firm or P&I Club, handling P&I and FDD work.
  • Team player with good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, managing multiple priorities and meeting deadlines.
