Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic professional to join our team as a Claims Manager. The Claims Manager will provide effective claims handling and advice to Members in accordance with the Claims Department’s guidelines and procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Handle allocated claims and related tasks, especially claims from Chartering Members, in compliance with the Claims Department’s guidelines to provide optimal claims services within designated authority levels:
- Assess risk and liability by collecting, analyzing, and assimilating information.
- Provide advice or recommendations to Members on claims handling strategies to resolve claims cost-effectively and expediently.
- Raise estimates, process payments and reimbursements, and liaise with the Head of FD&D in FD&D cases.
- Maintain regular reviews of claims and estimates according to the company’s requirements, which may vary.
- Maintain diaries regarding time bars and key dates.
- For FD&D claims, assess coverage, monitor costs, request budgets, and liaise with relevant teams if issues arise.
- Support knowledge management by sharing relevant information with the Head of Claims and other Departments.
- Ensure organized document management for both electronic and paper files, complying with company standards and health and safety practices.
- Provide guidance, supervision, and training to staff and third parties as needed.
- Monitor claims performance and fleet development, advising relevant departments accordingly.
- Visit Members and stakeholders to maintain relationships and improve service delivery.
- Attend training seminars and programmes as required.
- Coordinate with the Head of CCC Claims, Claims Handlers, the Head of FD&D, and other Departments as needed.
Qualifications:
- 3-5 years’ experience in a law firm or P&I Club, handling P&I and FDD work.
- Team player with good interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, managing multiple priorities and meeting deadlines.
