MPJ Recruitment are partnering with a growing claims management business in Colchester to recruit a Senior Claims Handler. You will manage a portfolio of motor claims from notification through to settlement, investigating liability and making informed decisions while taking ownership of each file.

The role offers a 35-hour week, hybrid working, and a salary of up to £37,000 DOE. We are seeking an experienced claims professional with strong negotiation skills and a proactive approach to drive

Qualifications

• Experience in motor claims is required.

Responsibilities

• Investigate liability and make informed claims decisions.
• Manage Own Damage and Third Party Property Damage claims.
• Handle Credit Hire and uninsured losses.
• Manage reserves and indemnity throughout the claim lifecycle.
• Liaise with repairers, engineers and other third parties.
• Dealing with vehicle repairs, total loss and valuations.
• Negotiating liability and quantum.
• Identify potential fraud and escalate concerns.
• Maintaining accurate and compliant claims records.
• Proactively manage claims from notification to settlement.
• Take ownership of complex or technically challenging claims.

Senior Claims Handler

Colchester

Up to £37,000 DOE | 35 Hours Per Week

MPJ Recruitment are working in partnership with a growing claims management business to recruit an experienced Senior Claims Handler to join their Colchester team.

We're looking for an experienced motor claims professional who can confidently manage their own caseload, investigate liability, make informed decisions and take ownership of claims from notification through to settlement.

This is a great opportunity for someone looking to utilise their existing technical claims experience within a growing and supportive organisation.

The Role

As a Senior Claims Handler, you'll be responsible for managing a portfolio of motor claims, with responsibilities including:

• Investigating liability and making informed claims decisions
• Managing Own Damage and Third Party Property Damage claims
• Handling Credit Hire and associated uninsured losses
• Managing reserves and indemnity throughout the lifecycle of a claim
• Liaising with repairers, engineers and other third parties
• Dealing with vehicle repairs, total loss and valuations
• Negotiating liability and quantum
• Identifying potential fraud and escalating concerns where appropriate
• Maintaining accurate and compliant claims records
• Proactively managing claims from first notification through to settlement
• Taking ownership of complex or technically challenging claims

About You

We're looking for an experienced claims professional who has:

• Previous experience within motor claims
• Strong knowledge of liability and indemnity
• Experience managing a caseload with minimal supervision
• Confidence making decisions and taking ownership of claim outcomes
• Strong negotiation and communication skills
• A proactive approach to claims management
• The ability to manage complex claims and resolve issues effectively

You don't need experience across every area of motor claims. Candidates with strong technical experience in areas such as Own Damage, TPPD, Credit Hire, Total Loss or Liability are encouraged to apply.
