Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a Senior Civil & Structural Engineering lead to drive the integrated design of a major power station project in a regulated environment. You will oversee multidisciplinary teams, manage design integration and coordinate with external partners.

Ideal candidates have a degree with Chartered Engineer status and a track record delivering large-scale infrastructure projects, including nuclear-related experience and strong stakeholder engagement skills.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree with Chartered Engineer status (ICE/IStructE or equivalent).
• Experience leading complex engineering programmes, managing multidisciplinary teams, budgets and performance metrics in large infrastructures or regulated environments.
• Significant Civil & Structural design leadership with complex design integration across major projects.
• Experience in nuclear infrastructure, site development or similarly regulated industries with interfaces between civil systems, structures and components.
• Ability to build trusted relationships with customers, supply chain partners and stakeholders, providing effective leadership throughout development and delivery.
• Experience implementing new ways of working, driving continuous improvement and coaching high-performing teams.
• Knowledge of planning, permitting, regulatory engagement, utility interfaces and interactions with authorities would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Lead site-specific Civil & Structural team to deliver integrated power station design across programme lifecycle.
• Provide technical and people leadership across civil engineering structures, systems and components.
• Manage complex design integration, coordinating internal disciplines with external suppliers and partners.
• Adapt RR SMR reference design to site-specific requirements while ensuring consistency across the portfolio.
• Champion health, safety and environmental excellence across activities.
• Mentor and coach engineers to foster a collaborative, inclusive culture.
• Support governance, planning and strategic decisions within the Design Management Team.
• Engage with customers, regulators and stakeholders to support planning, permitting and delivery.
