Job summary

Babcock is seeking a Senior Civil and Structural Engineer for the HMNB Clyde Faslane site. Based in Helensburgh with hybrid working, you will lead civil, structural and building asset inspections and ensure safety, compliance and operational readiness of critical infrastructure.

You will review designs, provide technical guidance to project teams, and act as SME for civil/structural matters across a defence environment.

Qualifications

Significant experience in civil, structural or building engineering environments.
Experience carrying out infrastructure inspections, asset assessments or engineering compliance activities.
Experience reviewing and approving engineering designs, specifications or technical solutions.
Strong knowledge of engineering standards, compliance requirements and risk management processes.
Experience providing technical leadership and engaging with stakeholders within complex operational environments.

Responsibilities

Conduct inspections of civil, structural and building assets across the site.
Review engineering compliance, infrastructure risks and asset performance for safe operations.
Provide technical advice and recommendations to infrastructure, maintenance and project teams.
Assess and approve engineering designs, specifications and technical solutions from internal/third-party organisations.
Lead technical governance activities and act as SME for civil, structural and building engineering matters.
