Senior Civil / Structural Design Engineer

We are recruiting for a Senior Civil / Structural Design Engineer to work in our Engineering Team in the London office. We offer an agile, hybrid working environment. This role offers an opportunity to deliver quality engineering solutions for various development projects, exceeding client expectations.

About The Design Business: RPS Design Division delivers projects across sectors including residential, logistics, retail, aviation, healthcare, education, manufacturing, data centres, and energy. We focus on balancing form and function, integrating digitalisation into our delivery model, and providing clients with immersive design experiences from concept to completion.

What you’ll be doing:

• Collaborate with the team, delegate tasks, and communicate effectively
• Mentor junior colleagues and provide technical guidance
• Participate in project/client meetings
• Assist with site inspections and surveys
• Perform design tasks using expert knowledge
• Ensure high-quality technical design output
• Maintain relationships with external teams and clients
• Manage costs, time, and budgets; support fee proposals
• Create detailed technical outputs and validate models and calculations
• Oversee drawing production and BIM protocols
• Work within a multidisciplinary team and mentor junior members

Who we’re looking for:

• Chartered or progressing towards CEng with ICE and/or IStructE
• 7-8+ years post-graduate experience in building structures
• Experience with building surveys, assessments, and tall buildings (15+ stories)
• Proficient in relevant design software and drawing/modeling tools
• Strong knowledge of legislation and standards
• Good commercial awareness and project management skills
• Committed to continuous professional development
• Excellent communication skills in Microsoft Office
