Job summary

Randstad UK is seeking an experienced Senior Planner to own the development, maintenance and critical path analysis of complex civil engineering schedules. You will ensure resource allocation and contractual compliance from pre-construction through handover, working closely with project managers, commercial teams and external stakeholders.

You will mentor junior planners, collaborate across the delivery team and operate in a hybrid model with on-site 3–4 days per week and remote work where

Qualifications

• Proven competence in Primavera P6 within a shared/enterprise database setup.
• Strong track record delivering programmes on complex civil engineering or infrastructure projects.
• Practical expertise working with NEC contracts (managing monthly cycles, change control, EWNs, and CE submissions).
• Degree or equivalent professional qualification in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or relevant industry discipline (e.g., CIOB, APM, ICE).

Responsibilities

• Lead development, baselining and updating of fully resourced programmes in NEC contract format.
• Monitor critical path activities and produce compliant change/compensation events.
• Coordinate cross-discipline progress in shared databases (Primavera P6).
• Track labour, plant and materials to ensure progress accuracy.
• Review subcontractor programmes and communicate schedule insights to leadership.
• Mentor assistant/trainee planners across the project team.
