Job summary

Randstad CPE is seeking an experienced Construction Planner to lead scheduling for a major civil infrastructure upgrade in the East Midlands. You will own baseline and live programmes, coordinate with project managers, site teams and commercial teams to track progress and manage EOT claims.

The role requires advanced Primavera P6 skills, CPM/WBS expertise, and a solid understanding of NEC contract requirements. A strong analytical mindset and excellent stakeholder communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Planner on major civil engineering, earthworks, or highway infrastructure projects.
• Advanced Primavera P6 is essential. Working knowledge of Microsoft Project and Linear Scheduling software (TILOS).
• Deep understanding of CPM, WBS development, and Earned Value Management (EVM).
• Strong working knowledge of NEC contract administration and its planning requirements (e.g., Clause 31/32 programmes).
• Strong capability in constructability reviews, sequence optimization, and forensic delay analysis.
• Excellent stakeholder communication and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Create, maintain, and update robust baseline schedules and live project programmes from pre-construction through to final handover.
• Monitor site progress against the baseline, reporting on milestones, critical path variances, and providing regular updates to internal and external stakeholders.
• Apply linear scheduling techniques suitable for extensive infrastructure and roadworks to ensure seamless logistical sequencing.
• Perform resource loading and leveling; integrate cost and schedule data to support Earned Value Management (EVM) and accurate forecasting.
• Identify potential schedule bottlenecks or risks early. Perform Time Impact Analysis (TIA) and support commercial teams with Extension of Time (EOT) claims and schedule risk analysis.
• Collaborate heavily with supply chain partners, subcontractors, utilities providers, and site operations to ensure all parties are aligned with the master schedule.
• Ensure all planning activities and reporting strictly adhere to the project's contract requirements (e.g., NEC frameworks).
