Job summary

Vertical Recruitment Limited is working with a leading international engineering consultancy to appoint an Associate Civil Infrastructure Engineer in Manchester. The role offers senior technical leadership on diverse UK and international projects, with involvement from planning through to detailed design.

You will lead multidisciplinary design teams, mentor junior engineers, manage client relationships and support business growth, with hybrid working and a clear pathway for career progression.

Qualifications

• Strong technical experience in civil infrastructure design across highways, utilities or drainage.
• Proven track record leading multidisciplinary delivery and project teams.
• Excellent communication, client-facing and mentoring skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead delivery of multidisciplinary infrastructure projects, overseeing quality, programme and resources.
• Review civil infrastructure designs from proposals to construction.
• Mentor and develop technical staff and coordinate workloads.
• Prepare technical reports, specs, schedules and project docs.
• Contribute to business development and client relationships.
• Promote sustainable design and reduce embodied carbon.
• Collaborate with teams for UK and international projects.
