Job summary

American Society of Civil Engineers in Manchester seeks a Principal/Associate Civil Engineer to lead multi-disciplinary civil projects and manage client relationships. The role offers progression toward Director level and influence over the Manchester office's growth.

You will deliver civil, structural and geotechnical work, supervise design teams, and own drawings, calculations and reports with strong leadership support. 4 days in the office and 1 day WFH.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering is required.
  • Chartered or close to chartered with ICE or IStructE is required.
  • Recent consultancy experience in North West preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Leading and managing delivery of civil engineering projects.
  • Taking technical ownership of drawings, calculations, reports and design documents.
  • Coordinating and reviewing work produced by engineers and technicians.
  • Using design/analysis software including Civil 3D and CAD.
  • Analysing technical problems and developing practical engineering solutions.
  • Understanding design guides, standards and CDM (2015) responsibilities.
  • Managing project risk (technical, commercial and H&S).
  • Attending site visits to assess constraints and construction progress.
  • Presenting technical solutions to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Internal project management including resource planning and financial control.
  • Developing fee proposals and project cost estimates.
  • Building and maintaining client relationships.
  • Supporting junior team members with technical and professional development.
  • Contributing to business development and team growth.

Job Title: Principal / Associate Civil Engineer

Salary: £55,000 - £65,000

A growing civil, structural and geotechnical engineering consultancy is seeking a Principal / Associate Civil Engineer to join their expanding Manchester team. This newly created role offers genuine progression towards Director level and the chance to shape the future of the Manchester office.
