Job summary

Elvet Recruitment Limited is seeking a skilled General Foreman to support a leading Civil Engineering contractor on highways, drainage and public realm schemes in the North East. This permanent role offers a clear progression path and a strong benefits package.

You will assist the Site Manager, run daily site briefings, deliver toolbox talks, supervise gangs, monitor HSEQ, manage sub-contractors and ensure plant permits are in place for the workforce.

Qualifications

• Must have experience as General Foreman on varied civil engineering/infrastructure projects.
• Experience delivering highways, deep drainage, structures, Public Realm.
• CSCS, SMSTS/SSSTS, First Aid and full driving licence required.
• Beneficial: NRSWA, Temporary Works, Appointed Person.

Responsibilities

• Assisting Manager (Site Agent) in delivery of schemes.
• Daily briefings with staff on site.
• Delivering HSE toolbox talks.
• Overseeing gangs on the ground in daily delivery of work.
• Monitoring H&S with audits.
• Assist with supply chain & sub-contractor management.
• Plant checks & permits for workforce.
