Job description

We are looking for a flexible individual who has the ability to meet targets and analyse and resolve complex technical problems and formulate a design solution.

WHAT IS INVOLVED?
You will be responsible for designing and commissioning engineering schemes associated with traffic management, road safety engineering and/or transport planning.

You will be required to undertake work associated with:-

• Urban and rural traffic management, including speed management, traffic regulation, parking control and accident investigation and prevention.
• Transport Infrastructure design and maintenance.
• Safety Audit
• Signing and lining design review.
• Walking Route assessments
• Accident monitoring and analysis
• Sustainable transport schemes and initiatives
• General technical support

WHAT WILL I NEED?
You will hold a HNC in Civil Engineering or equivalent and should have experience in an engineering role involving the application of the principles of transport and traffic engineering design.

HYBRID WORKING
Durham County Council currently operates a hybrid working policy where a model of 2 days in the workplace and 3 days at home/remote will apply. This model is pro-rated for part time roles and arrangements are at managers discretion, alternatively you can work all of your contracted hours within the workplace if you prefer.
