Job summary

Bennett and Game Recruitment LTD is seeking a Commercial Manager for civil engineering projects across the Midlands, including Leicester and Derby. You will take commercial responsibility, manage costs, cash flow and profitability, and lead a small commercial team.

The role requires senior QS experience within civil engineering, strong cost control and CVR/reporting skills, and a driving licence. A car allowance and healthcare benefits are included along with pension and holiday entitlement.

Qualifications

• Experience as Commercial Manager or Senior Quantity Surveyor
• Strong civil engineering/infrastructure sector background
• Knowledge of CVR, forecasting, and cash management

Responsibilities

• Take commercial responsibility for civil engineering projects across the Midlands
• Manage project cost, value, cash flow and profitability
• Produce and oversee monthly CVR reporting, forecasting and cost projections
• Ensure client valuations and applications are submitted accurately and on time
• Manage contractual notices, change control and variations
• Identify commercial risks and opportunities throughout the project lifecycle
• Manage subcontract procurement, appointments, valuations and final accounts
• Ensure contractual entitlement is identified, recorded and maximised
• Work closely with Project Managers and operational teams to monitor project performance
• Review construction methodologies and identify opportunities for value engineering
• Manage commercial relationships with clients and the supply chain
• Lead, mentor and develop Quantity Surveyors and junior commercial staff
• Support projects from pre-construction through delivery and final account
• Ensure commercial processes and procedures are implemented consistently across projects
