Job summary

Nub News is seeking an Engineer / Senior Engineer to join our Technical team on residential development projects. You will support from land appraisal through to construction completion and adoption, coordinating infrastructure designs and external consultants to ensure robust and buildable solutions.

Key responsibilities include liaising with utility providers, coordinating drainage and foundations, and ensuring compliance with planning conditions and technical approvals.

Qualifications

• HNC, HND or equivalent qualification in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
• CSCS Card.
• Experience using AutoCAD.
• Knowledge of vehicle tracking software and swept path analysis.
• Strong IT skills including Microsoft Office applications.
• Previous experience within residential development, civil engineering or infrastructure projects.

Responsibilities

• Manage and coordinate external consultants responsible for highways, drainage, structural engineering, foundations and other infrastructure designs.
• Review engineering proposals and drawings for buildability, programme and cost implications.
• Obtain and coordinate information for statutory submissions and approvals.
• Procure and assess utility quotations to secure cost-effective solutions.
• Liaise with utility providers regarding diversions, upgrades and new service installations.
• Coordinate foundation designs, suspended floor solutions and related technical details.
• Review geotechnical reports and identify remediation or enabling works.
• Manage site investigations, testing and remediation work with consultants.
• Review ecological and Arboriculture reports and coordinate actions before site operations.
• Work with environmental specialists and statutory bodies on protected species and site constraints.
• Support adoption processes with local authorities including inspections and close-out requirements.
• Arrange remedial works and coordinate contractors to achieve successful adoption.
• Coordinate drainage inspections, surveys and maintenance during construction and maintenance periods.
• Assist with resolving technical and customer drainage issues as they arise.
• Provide engineering support across all stages of development lifecycle from land acquisition to handover.
• Support and mentor junior team members.
