Job summary

VolkerStevin, part of VolkerWessels UK, is seeking a Senior Engineer to join the team on a major Chesterfield project, delivering critical infrastructure works in a fast-paced environment.

You will own the technical delivery and on-site engineering control, working with Site Agents and project teams to ensure safe, efficient construction to the highest quality standards. Experience in major civil/energy projects is essential.

Qualifications

• A Degree, HNC or equivalent qualification in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
• Proven experience operating at Senior Engineer level on major infrastructure, energy or substation projects.
• Appropriate CSCS or EUSR CSCS accreditation.
• Strong knowledge of engineering controls, setting out and quality assurance processes.
• Experience using AutoCAD, digital document control systems and Microsoft 365.
• A full UK driving licence.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• The ability to coordinate multiple technical interfaces and drive issues through to completion.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of the technical delivery and engineering control of key civil engineering work packages.
• Collaborate with Site Agents, Sub Agents, supervisors and project teams to deliver on safety, quality and performance.
• Ensure construction activities are delivered safely, efficiently and to the highest quality standards.
• Lead engineering activities on site and solve technical challenges.
