Job summary

Cavendish Professionals is recruiting a Senior Engineer for a major civil infrastructure project in Bridgwater. The role entails overseeing engineering activities, coordinating teams, and ensuring works meet drawings, specifications, and schedules.

You will lead site engineers, manage setting out and QA, review drawings for buildability, and support planning, sequencing, and change management while maintaining high health, safety and environmental standards.

Qualifications

• Degree or HNC/HND in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
• Proven experience as Senior Engineer or Site Engineer in civil infrastructure/highways.
• Experience leading engineering teams on complex projects.
• Proficient with surveying and setting out equipment.
• Strong QA processes and site documentation knowledge.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• CSCS Card
• Full UK Driving Licence

Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage engineering activities across multiple project phases.
• Ensure works align with drawings, specs, and programme.
• Lead and mentor Site and Graduate Engineers.
• Manage setting out and QA procedures.
• Review drawings and buildability issues.
• Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, and design teams.
• Produce site records, as-builts and documentation.
• Assist with planning and sequencing to maximise productivity.
• Monitor quality control and compliance with project specs.
• Support commercial teams with measurement, valuations and change.
• Drive health, safety, environmental and quality compliance.
