Job summary

United Infrastructure is seeking an experienced Senior Engineer to support the delivery of the Liverpool Bay Carbon Capture Scheme, liaising with project teams and stakeholders on a major energy transition programme across the North West.

Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you will lead civil and structural works, review designs, and mentor junior engineers while ensuring safety, quality, and programme delivery on this landmark infrastructure project.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• Experience delivering major civil/utility projects.
• Chartered status or working towards accreditation.
• Full UK Driving Licence.

Responsibilities

• Manage and oversee civil and structural construction activities, including reinforced concrete, foundations, drainage, and associated infrastructure.
• Ensure works are delivered safely, on programme, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
• Provide technical guidance and support to construction teams, subcontractors, and site management.
• Review engineering designs, specifications, and construction methodologies to ensure successful project delivery.
• Liaise with design teams, project stakeholders, and subcontractors to resolve technical queries and interface issues.
• Monitor compliance with engineering standards, project requirements, CDM Regulations, and company HSE procedures.
• Support planning, sequencing, and coordination of construction activities.
• Identify and mitigate engineering risks and construction constraints.
• Mentor and develop Site Engineers, Graduate Engineers, and other junior team members.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and engineering best practice across the project.
