Job summary

Taylor Wimpey is seeking a senior civil engineering professional to provide designs and support across development stages, from viability to technical consent. You will oversee consultants, ensure cost-effective and compliant solutions, and liaise with NHBC and statutory bodies.

Responsibilities include coordinating road, sewer, and drainage designs, managing external teams, and delivering robust foundations and plots while upholding regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in engineering issues in housebuilding e.g. roads, sewers, foundations, land drainage, utilities.
• Engineering degree or equivalent; ideally accredited by RICS or ICE.
• Proficient in AutoCAD, PDS, Windes and Microdrainage.
• Ability to undertake civil engineering design in-house and to manage external designs.
• Thorough understanding of regulatory requirements and geotechnical/environmental report interpretation.

Responsibilities

• Prepare viabilities and interpret geo-technical reports and make recommendations.
• Procure designs and quotes for new utility proposals.
• Fully understand CDM regulations and ensure compliant designs.
• Coordinate and manage external consultants and statutory bodies (Highway Authorities, Water Companies, Environment Agency).
• Ensure information is ready for pre-tender, site start and pursuit of technical consents.
