Job summary

AECOM is seeking a Senior Civil Engineer to deliver civil engineering designs and technical documentation for data centre projects in the UK and overseas. You will work within a Civil Engineering Business Unit alongside engineers, architects and project managers to support client delivery.

The role focuses on site due diligence, masterplanning, detailed design and construction support, contributing to AECOM’s capability in the data centre sector and hyperscale developments.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
• Working toward or Chartered Engineer (CEng MICE or equivalent) desirable.
• Experience delivering civil infrastructure projects, ideally including data centres or large-scale developments.
• Knowledge of planning, highways, drainage and utility approval processes.
• Experience working in multidisciplinary teams, supporting design coordination and technical delivery.
• Understanding of BIM modelling, processes and collaborative platforms.

Responsibilities

• Provide civil engineering support for data centre projects, ensuring compliance with standards and regulatory requirements.
• Deliver and review civil infrastructure designs and specifications for site development, earthworks, drainage, pavements and utilities.
• Coordinate with ground engineers, electrical, mechanical, structural engineers, architects and project managers across the UK and globally.
• Mentor and support the development of junior engineers within the Data Centres sector.
