Job summary

Candl Recruitment Ltd is seeking a Senior Residential Support Worker for a children’s residential service in Worksop, Nottinghamshire. The role offers day and night shifts with an ASAP start and a competitive hourly rate of £13.00–£15.00, depending on experience.

You will provide practical and emotional support to young people, help maintain routines, promote independence, and work as a positive role model while guiding colleagues and ensuring safekeeping and accurate documentation.

Qualifications

  • Level 3 Diploma or equivalent in residential childcare or related field.
  • Experience in children's homes or supported accommodation.
  • Strong safeguarding knowledge and safeguarding procedures.

Senior Children's Residential Support Worker

Location: Worksop, Nottinghamshire

Pay: £13.00 - £15.00 per hour, depending on experience

Shifts: Days & Nights Available

Start: ASAP

We are looking for an experienced Senior Residential Support Worker to join a residential service supporting children and young people in Worksop, Nottinghamshire.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in children's residential care who understands the importance of consistency, structure, positive boundaries and creating a safe and nurturing environment for young people.

The Role

As a Senior Residential Support Worker, you will provide practical and emotional support to young people while helping maintain high standards across the service.

  • Supporting children and young people with daily routines and activities
  • Building positive, consistent and professional relationships
  • Promoting independence, confidence and essential life skills
  • Supporting education, appointments, activities and wellbeing
  • Acting as a positive role model for young people
  • Supporting and guiding colleagues during shifts
  • Managing challenging situations calmly and professionally
  • Maintaining accurate records, reports and handovers
  • Following care plans, risk assessments and safeguarding procedures
  • Helping maintain a safe, structured and nurturing home environment
Essential Requirements
  • Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare, Children & Young People's Workforce, or a relevant equivalent qualification
  • Previous experience within a children's home, supported accommodation or similar children's residential setting
  • Strong knowledge of safeguarding and child protection
  • Experience supporting vulnerable children and young people
  • Confidence managing challenging behaviour and complex situations
  • Good communication, leadership and record keeping skills
  • Flexibility to work day and night shifts
