I have an AMAZING opportunity for a PASSIONATE and COMMITTED individual to join a residential service in Cyncoed, Cardiff, as a Senior Children's Support Worker, supporting young people between the ages of 8 - 18 years with Emotional & Behavioural Difficulties (EBD).

We are looking for an enthusiastic, resilient, and motivated individual who wants to make a difference in the lives of young people; to enable them to develop socially, emotionally, and behaviourally in a setting where they feel safe and cared for.

**Note: Applicants must have a full driver's licence due to the nature of the job and activities involved.**

  • Location: Cyncoed, Cardiff (CF14 postcode)
  • Hours: Full time - Permanent

Responsibilities:

  • Lead by example and support the management team during shifts
  • Mentor and support newer staff members
  • Encourage young people to participate in activities and take responsibility for their lives, appropriate to their age
  • Maintain a homely, friendly environment in the homes
  • Handle challenging behaviours effectively
  • Protect children and young people from health and welfare risks
  • Support the independence and well-being of children and young people
  • Ensure a safe environment and stay informed about individual care plans and guidelines
  • Support challenging behaviours safely and sympathetically
  • Develop and maintain good relationships with staff, parents, Social Workers, and other professionals involved in the young people's lives


Requirements:

  • Experience as a Children Support Worker or with Young People is ESSENTIAL
  • Experience in another healthcare or social care setting is ESSENTIAL
