Job summary

Hours: 4 days and sleep nights on, 6 days off (365 rota)

Pay rate: £43,740 to £48,186 per annum,* including opportunities to pick up overtime at an enhanced rate - rates applicable from April 2026

What we are looking for:

Moorland Cottage is a two-bed, Ofsted registered children's home providing immediate intervention and trauma-informed therapeutic support.

Over a 12 week placement, our young people are given security, support, and stabilisation in a nurturing and peaceful environment. Every placement provides PACE principle residential care, access to education and participation in outdoor/adventure activities.

*Estimated full time salary based on a pay rate of £15.00 to £16.90 per hour for days (depending on qualifications held) and working 12 sleep-nights per month on average (at £60 per sleep night).

Essential requirements for a Senior Children’s Adventure Care Worker:
  • A minimum 12 months experience in a children’s residential care home
  • A level 3 (or above) diploma in residential childcare (or be close to completion)
  • A full driving licence, issued in the UK
  • A keen interest in outdoor and adventure activities
  • Applicants must have full right to work in the UK with no restrictions
  • In depth knowledge of Ofsted regulations, expectations and best practice
  • Training and experience in de‑escalation, safe restraint and physical intervention (such as Team Teach, MAPA etc.)
  • Values in line with Esland’s, such as taking a therapeutic, person‑centred approach to childcare
  • Due to industry regulations, applicants must be aged 21 or above
