Job summary

Esland Group Ltd is hiring a Children’s Adventure Care Worker at Woodside Farm, Shifnal. This temporary maternity cover role involves 4 days on, 6 days off with sleep nights, and delivers up to two young people daily in a trauma-informed residential setting.

You will support 8–18-year-olds, provide therapeutic care, and plan outdoor/adventure activities while acting as a positive role model within a dedicated team. Salary £40,464–£42,804 plus overtime opportunities.

Qualifications

• Experience in a children’s residential care home (desirable).
• Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (desirable).
• Experience in care, education, mental health support or youth activities (essential).
• Full UK driving licence (essential).
• Right to work in the UK with no restrictions (essential).
• Values in line with Esland’s therapeutic, person-centred approach (essential).
• Interest in outdoor/adventure activities (essential).
• Aged 21 or above (essential).

Be the stability a young person needs. Join Esland as a Children’s Adventure Care Worker and help shape brighter futures through care, intervention and activities.

Hours: 4 days on, 6 days off (with sleep nights). We are a 365 day a year service due to the nature of our work. Rotas are given in advance.

This is a temporary role to cover maternity leave, but may lead to a permanent opportunity for the right candidate

Pay rate: £40,464 to £42,804 per annum.* Includes opportunities to pick up extras shifts / overtime at an enhanced rate

Woodside Farm is a beautifully renovated property based in the countryside outside Shifnal, providing an excellent setting for a therapeutic assessment home. Using a trauma-informed approach, the team provides intervention care that supports emotional healing and personal development for up to two young people at a time.

Over a 12 week placement, our assessment strategy helps us understand what is truly right for a young person and their needs

Every placement provides PACE principles, therapeutic care, access to education and the opportunity to participate in an outdoor adventure programme.

The work and commitment of our teams, helps us to determine what support a young person requires and defines their next steps.

Requirements for a Children's Adventure Care Worker:

• Experience in a children’s residential care home (highly desirable)
• A level 3 (or above) diploma in residential childcare (desirable)
• Experience within care, education, mental health support and/or youth activities (essential)
• A Full driving licence issued in the UK (essential)
• Applicants must have full right to work in the UK with no restrictions (essential)
• Values in line with Esland's, such as taking a therapeutic, person-centred approach to childcare (essential)
• A keen interest in outdoor and adventure activities (essential)
• Due to industry regulations, applicants must be aged 21 or above (essential)
