Job summary

Bury Council is recruiting for a Children’s Advanced Practitioner in the Family Safeguarding Team. The role involves mentoring, coaching and leading good quality, child-centred practice while embedding the Family Safeguarding model and Motivational Interviewing.

You will manage a small, complex caseload and work with children, young people and families, delivering assessments and interventions. Full training and support are guaranteed.

Qualifications

• Social Work qualification with SW England registration.
• Experience with children and families in need of help and protection using a strengths-based approach.
• Knowledge of relevant legislation and its implications for services.
• Strong interpersonal and caring skills to meet demanding needs.
• Excellent analytical and judgemental abilities to interpret complex information.
• Good time management to meet deadlines and juggle workload.
• Commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion.

Responsibilities

• Put children at the heart of everything you do.
• Support vulnerable children and families to achieve best outcomes and family-led plans.
• Use motivational interviewing; ensure strengths-based practice.
• Develop relationships with partners and maintain detailed records.
• Lead and supervise ASYE colleagues; ensure high quality practice.
• Deputise for Team Manager and contribute to panels and meetings.
• Support transformation of children's services across Bury.
