Job description

Our client is seeking a Senior Chemist to join their team in Ayrshire. This role involves collaborating with the Lab Manager to deliver a high-quality analytical service, meeting deadlines for various sample types submitted to the lab. You will manage the Chemistry Lab and personnel on a daily basis, stepping in for the Lab Manager as needed. Responsibilities include performing analytical methods with precision, conducting method development using techniques such as GCMS, ICPMS, and IC, and ensuring compliance with ISO 17025, ISO 45001, and ISO 14001 certifications.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Perform analytical methods with precision.
2. Conduct method development using techniques such as GCMS, ICPMS, and IC.
3. Ensure compliance with ISO 17025, ISO 45001, and ISO 14001 certifications.
4. Manage the Chemistry Lab and personnel on a daily basis.
5. Step in for the Lab Manager as needed.

Qualifications:

• Experienced in a laboratory analytical setting.
• Experienced in ICPMS preferred.
• Experience in managing personnel effectively.
• Strong capability in method development and validation.
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Effective team leadership abilities.
• Highly organized with strong communication skills.
• Good numeracy and IT skills.
• HNC or HND in Science or equivalent; Science degree preferred.
