Varndean School requires an enthusiastic, committed and outstanding Senior Cook/Chef to join the school’s busy catering team. The successful applicant will have excellent food preparation, cooking and presenting skills as well as strong interpersonal and communication skills. The successful applicant will supervise kitchen staff and deputise in the Catering Manager’s absence.

The role is Grade C, points 13-17, £28,163 pro rata, actual starting salary £24,398. 37 hours per week, 39 weeks per year (term time only), working hours 6.30am - 2pm.

This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate and dynamic professional to join our well established and highly successful catering team. Varndean School is an 11-16 school with around 1500 students, set in a picturesque south coast location in the vibrant and diverse city of Brighton and Hove. Varndean is a Good (Ofsted 2022) and well established school already, we have made rapid progress over the past couple of years and have no intention of resting on our laurels.
