Help shape the future of children’s palliative care at home in Scotland
Are you an experienced nurse leader with the passion, confidence and ambition to help transform how children’s palliative care is delivered in the community?
This is an exciting opportunity to join CHAS at Home as a Senior Charge Nurse, providing visible, compassionate clinical leadership and helping us develop high-quality, responsive and sustainable care for children and families closer to home.
At CHAS, our ambition is to enable children and families to have real choice about where and how their care is delivered, including when a child is approaching the end of their life. As Senior Charge Nurse, you will play a pivotal role in making that ambition a reality.
This is much more than a traditional charge nurse position.
You will lead with visibility and compassion the delivery and development of specialist paediatric palliative care within the community. Providing clinical and professional leadership to your CHAS at Home team while working collaboratively with colleagues across CHAS, the NHS and Health and Social Care Partnerships.
You will help develop models of care that are accessible, responsive and equitable, supporting both scheduled and unscheduled care and enabling children and families to receive complex palliative and end-of-life care at home when this reflects their wishes.
You will promote a culture of continuous learning, improvement and professional accountability.
We are looking for someone who brings clinical credibility, compassionate leadership and a genuine desire to make services better for children and families. Alongside a commitment to share expertise and enable a culture of continuous learning and development.
You will be a Registered Nurse (Child) or Registered Nurse (Learning Disability), educated to (at a minimum) degree level, with substantial nursing experience including senior experience at NHS Band 6 level or above. You will bring leadership and management experience, service-development experience and experience of children’s palliative care and care around dying.
Working with CHAS provides a unique opportunity to support children and families to make the most of their precious time together; as a team, we make extraordinary things happen every day.
Our children’s palliative care nurses report great satisfaction in being able to provide high quality nursing care in a supportive team with exciting career development opportunities.
