Job summary

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC) invites applications for a Senior Charge Midwife (Band 7) in the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital Maternity Unit. You will provide clinical leadership in a busy maternity service and hold 24-hour accountability while working with the leadership team to drive safety and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Registered Midwife with current NMC registration.
• Degree educated or equivalent knowledge and experience.
• Significant clinical experience within maternity services.
• Evidence of leadership and people management skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge of clinical governance, patient safety and quality improvement methodologies.
• Experience of workforce planning and resource management.
• Commitment to staff learning, development and succession planning.
• Understanding of evidence-based practice and service improvement approaches.
• Commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion and the values of NHS Greater Glasgow & Clyde.
