What do we need

M-Star CFD is modern computational fluid dynamics software providing first-principles modeling tools for scientists and engineers, generating predictions indistinguishable from measured data.

We seek a Senior Technical/Scientific Support Engineer to become a trusted technical advisor and M-Star CFD subject matter expert.

This varied role includes scientific root cause analysis, advanced modeling, demonstrations, customer success, and technical support. As a senior individual contributor, you should be a self-starter capable of working independently.

This position involves training, mentoring, technical support, demos, advice, and troubleshooting for complex CFD problems across the EMEA region. Our customers are in high-impact roles within pharmaceutical, biotechnology, contract research, chemicals, materials, and academia sectors. A background in these areas is essential to understanding customer needs.

The role requires some travel across Europe.

In this role you will get to:

1. Create advanced fluid models for customers
2. Develop R&D simulations and process models aligned with customer needs
3. Demonstrate software capabilities and validate extensions
4. Create and deliver customer demonstrations
5. Provide specialist support and guidance on M-Star products
6. Manage complex customer cases, including custom reaction models and solid implementations
7. Lead “Office Hours” for multiple users
8. Respond to, resolve, and escalate customer incidents per SOPs and SLAs
9. Create knowledge articles, publications, and training materials
10. Collaborate with internal and external teams to resolve technical issues
11. Engage with product development to advocate for customer feedback
12. Identify support trends and suggest improvements
13. Maintain systems of record like Salesforce, JIRA, Confluence

We are looking for people who have

A Master’s or PhD in Mathematics, Physics, or Engineering, combined with a customer service mindset and technical expertise. You should enjoy troubleshooting, solving complex problems, and working cross-functionally, with an understanding of life sciences and drug discovery/development or manufacturing.

The key skills we are looking for:

• Experience in Life Sciences/R&D/Pharmaceutical industry
• Advanced knowledge of computational fluid dynamics (CFD)
• Process modeling and simulations
• Proficiency in C++ and advanced Python
• Experience in customer-facing roles within the Life Sciences sector
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
• Experience with research informatics software/tools

You may also have experience in:

• Digital Twin Technology
• SDLC, QMS, and ITIL methodologies
• GMP and GLP standards
• Salesforce and JIRA
• Experimental or plant-level experience
