Job summary
Stantec is seeking an experienced Senior or Principal Water Resources Engineer with CFD experience to join our Hydropower team in the UK. You will work on dams and hydropower projects across the UK, collaborating with engineers and other specialists to deliver robust solutions.
The role offers hybrid working, professional development, and opportunities to contribute to high-profile projects such as Coire Glas and Cruachan.
Qualifications
- A Civil Engineering degree with hydraulics and hydrology experience.
- Chartered Engineer status, or working toward chartership.
- Essential experience in dams hydraulics.
- Experience in 1D steady and unsteady hydraulic modelling using HADES/HEC-RAS.
- Experience in 2D modelling including RiverFlow2D or TUFLOW.
- CFD modelling with FLOW-3D/OpenFOAM/SimFLOW is highly advantageous.
Responsibilities
- Undertaking hydrology studies and technical analyses.
- Delivering hydraulic modelling and design for projects.
- Leading dam break and floodplain inundation studies.
- Preparing clear, high‑quality technical reports.
- Liaising closely with client teams and project stakeholders.
