Job summary

Stantec Consulting International Ltd. is seeking an experienced Senior or Principal Water Resources Engineer to join our Water Power & Dams team in the UK. You will work on hydropower schemes across the UK, collaborating with multidisciplinary specialists to deliver robust, innovative solutions.

The role focuses on hydrology, hydraulic modelling and dam safety analyses, including 1D/2D modelling and CFD tools. Hybrid/flexible working and strong career development are offered.

Qualifications

Degree in Civil Engineering with hydraulics and hydrology experience.
Chartered Engineer status or pursuing chartership.
Experience in dams hydraulics is essential.
Proficient in 1D hydraulic modelling (HADES/HEC-RAS).
Proficient in 2D modelling (HEC-RAS/RiverFlow2D/TUFLOW) and CFD tools (FLOW-3D/OpenFOAM/SimFLOW).

Responsibilities

Undertaking hydrology studies and technical analyses.
Delivering hydraulic modelling and design.
Leading dam break and floodplain inundation studies.
Preparing clear, high-quality technical reports.
Liaising closely with client teams and project stakeholders.
